About Sean:
Sean McCabe, electric guitarist and keys player
Q & A session
Q. So how long have you been playing the guitar?
A. About three and a half years. I’ve played acoustic guitar one year longer than that, and I’ve played piano for 13 or 14 years.
Q. Cool, cool. What got you involved in music?
A. We had a piano given to us, and I guess I started playing on that. My mom saw I had an interest in it, and I got lessons at 6.
Q. So you had lessons?
A. On piano, yes.
Q. Ever take guitar lessons?
A. No, I just picked that up.
Q. Okay, so what led you to Progeny?
A. Josh [mutual friend of Ben]. He just called and told me about it.
Q. Why Progeny?
A. I’ve wanted to do some type of music ministry, and this was just a great opportunity.
Q. What’s your favorite song ever?
A. That’s hard. I just listen to mixes. I can’t say a favorite song. It’s too hard.
Q. So no favorite band either?
A. It’s too hard.
Q. Do you have a favorite movie ever?
A. The Prestige.
Q. So you’re more of a drama guy or a comedy guy…romantic?
A. I like everything. I like scary movies, action, drama, comedy. Pretty much everything.
Q. You’re easy to please.
A. Yeah.
Q. What about your favorite food.
A. Pizza.
Q. And candy?
A. Skittles.
Q. What other hobbies do you have besides music?
A. Computers, drawing, basketball. Does facebook count as a hobby? No, don’t put that.
Q. We’ll put whatever we want. OK. Are you an only child?
A. Nope. I have 10 younger siblings.
Q. So we’ve come to the part in our interview where we just ask random questions. Are you ready for that?
A. Sure.
Q. If you could be any superhero, who would you be?
A. I don’t want to be cliché, but Superman because he can fly.
Q. Alright. That’s good. If your house were burning down and you could only take one thing with you, what would it be?
A. My I-phone. It cost the same amount as my guitar.
Q. Huh. That’s interesting. If you could be any animal, what would it be?
A. I wouldn’t be. I’m not an animal person.
Q. That’s going to lose some fans. Everybody hear that? McCabe is not an animal person. OK. What planet would you most like to visit?
A. What’s wrong with this one?
Q. Finish this sentence. Lifetime supply of…blank.
A. I-tunes songs.
Q. That’s a good one. If you were a piece of furniture, what would you be?
A. A coffee table. It’s practical. Oh, but people would unload their junk on me a lot.
Q. That’s right. They probably would. But you can’t change your answer now. We’re moving on. So if you were a cartoon character, who would you be?
A. Calvin from Calvin and Hobbs.
Q. Why Calvin?
A. Maybe I just like him a lot?
Q. OK. That’s cool. Now, if you suffered from a phobia, what would it be?
A. Deathophobia. That’s probably mine. I’m not really afraid of spiders or heights or the dark.
Q. If you belonged to a TV family, which would it be?
A. The Brady Bunch because they’re the closest thing to my family.
Q. Can you list the top five reasons that someone would want to buy a radar detector?
A. Not getting pulled over…umm…are there five reasons?
